A specialist in King IV and the Companies Act, Alun has a particular interest in working with companies that are in need of good corporate governance, helping them to achieve best practice by implementing practical governance structures and mechanisms. Responsible for Statucor’s governance services at our Cape Town and Durban offices.

Shantel specialises in assisting listed and unlisted companies to comply with the new Companies Act 2008 and King IV guidelines implementing best governance structures within these companies. 10 years in the Corporate Governance industry and 6 years thereof heading up Corporate Secretarial Divisions.
Bert Lopes

Bert is the BDO Johannesburg Managing Partner as well as Head of BDO Business Services Outsourcing. He has over 25 years’ experience covering a wide spectrum of clients where he has developed strong working relationships and provided both audit and other assurance services.
Palesa Ngomeza
Non-Executive Director
Palesa started her career at BDO Johannesburg as an Audit Trainee in 2012, after graduating from the University of the Witwatersrand with a Bachelor of Accounting Sciences degree. In 2018, she was promoted to Senior Audit Manager within the BDO Cape Town audit division
Sanele Nkosi
Non-Executive Director
Sanele joined BDO as a trainee accountant and worked his way up to Audit Manager before going on international secondment to BDO in the US. He then moved to a large competitor where he became a Senior Audit manager before returning to BDO in 2019 as an Associate Director
Daniel Botha
Non-Executive Director
Daniel is the Chief Financial Officer for BDO South Africa and has over 23 years’ experience, 13 of which are in external audit assurance. He joined BDO in 2005, after 10 years in commerce as a financial manager at some reputable local and multi-national groups in the technology and media industries.

Larey is a member of the Institute of Directors and currently heads up the board support and governance services of our Pretoria and Johannesburg offices. He specialises in legal and technical consultation and in addition to being a non-practising admitted attorney, he is a qualified commercial mediator.
Alun Rich
Director
Alun is both an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA) and a member of the Institute of Directors. Before joining Statucor as a director, he was a manager at Deloitte & Touché, and then founding partner of Wilson Rich & Associates, which grew into one of the largest independent company secretarial practices in Cape Town.
