Larey van der Westhuizen
Larey’s combination of entrepreneurial, commercial and legal expertise makes him one of the most versatile and insightful members of the corporate governance fraternity. On the strength of his background, he has a 360 degree view of the governance challenges facing businesses of all sizes, across industries, placing our clients in highly capable hands.
A specialist in King IV and the Companies Act, Alun has a particular interest in working with companies that are in need of good corporate governance, helping them to achieve best practice by implementing practical governance structures and mechanisms. Responsible for Statucor’s governance services at our Cape Town and Durban offices.
Ahmed is a B Com (Hons) graduate and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2003. With extensive accounting and technical audit experience in various industries, he was actively involved in training, quality control and assurance matters, and served as an audit partner at the BDO Johannesburg office.
Heemal Bhaga Muljee
Heemal is Head of Audit at BDO South Africa. He has been with BDO since articles, after which he completed a secondment to BDO’s USA firm in 2005. Upon his return from secondment, he was promoted to an audit manager and at the beginning of 2009 he was appointed as an audit partner.
Larey van der Westhuizen
Larey is a member of the Institute of Directors and currently heads up the board support and governance services of our Pretoria and Johannesburg offices. He specialises in legal and technical consultation and in addition to being a non-practising admitted attorney, he is a qualified commercial mediator.
Alun is both an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA) and a member of the Institute of Directors. Before joining Statucor as a director, he was a manager at Deloitte & Touché, and then founding partner of Wilson Rich & Associates, which grew into one of the largest independent company secretarial practices in Cape Town.
Deidre de Carvalho
Being in charge of Operations for Statucor, Deidre oversees the Compliance and Company Secretarial functions on a national basis. In one of her specialisation areas, assisting offshore companies, her most complex project to date entailed registering domain names in virtually every country for a Belgium-based client.
Shantel Dartnall Cert.Dir™
Shantel specialises in assisting listed and unlisted companies to comply with the new Companies Act 2008 and King IV guidelines implementing best governance structures within these companies. 10 years in the Corporate Governance industry and 6 years thereof heading up Corporate Secretarial Divisions.
Feroza has more than 20 years in the Audit Industry and has over 18 years of experience in statutory compliance and administration in the company secretarial field. She has gained a wealth of experience and knowledge working with a wide variety of companies, from close corporations to large corporates with multiple subsidiaries, in many different sectors.
Tebogo completed her articles at BDO South Africa Incorporated in January 2008. She was then promoted to Audit Senior in Febraury 2008, and further promoted to Audit Supervisor in April 2015. With over 10 years of audit experience she serviced both listed and private companies, across different industries.
