Alun Rich
A specialist in King IV and the Companies Act, Alun has a particular interest in working with companies that are in need of good corporate governance, helping them to achieve best practice by implementing practical governance structures and mechanisms. By way of example, Alun will make sure that a board is properly constituted, that its members’ demographics and skills are appropriate for the business, and that sound charters and terms of reference are in place.
Responsible for Statucor’s governance services at our Cape Town and Durban offices, Alun personally serves as designated company secretary for several listed and large unlisted companies, where he is closely involved in applying sound corporate governance principles and instilling a culture of best-practice. Typically, Alun assists in drafting various charters and terms of reference, and ensures that board meetings are optimised to maximise on director participation.
Alun is both an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA) and a member of the Institute of Directors. Before joining Statucor as a director, he was a manager at Deloitte & Touché, and then founding partner of Wilson Rich & Associates, which grew into one of the largest independent company secretarial practices in Cape Town.
